Book Review- Flame of Resistance
My Review:
Brigitte is a hurting young women. Loosing her beloved fiancee, she is left with nothing. Out of the desperation of her circumstances, Brigitte opens a brothel. She is looked down upon from her fellow country men because of her choice of "profession", which also caters only to the Nazis'. For Brigitte life has no apparent meaning or hope. Joining the french Resistance, seems to be the only good thing dirty and tainted Brigitte can accomplish. When met by American pilot, Tom, everything changes, even her take on life.
Tom a pretty level headed guy is thrust into an awkward situation. Being blonde headed and blue eyed, makes for an excellent Nazi poser, and French spy. He is to become a "customer" at Brigitte's brothel, where she gives him any information she has gathered from her Nazi customers, where he in turn gives it to their Resistance leader.
As time progresses Brigitte and Tom realize that they have a flame of love between them, but things start spiraling downward. As tension rises as D- Day approaches, the Resistance are threatened to be revealed for a minor mistake on their part. Will the underground work the Resistance do be exposed? How will Brigitte and Tom fare under the hands of the enemy. Will their flame of love be ignited? Or will the perils of war put out the sparks?
I enjoyed this book immensely. Being an avid WW|| to reader I was quick to pick this one up. I enjoyed the underground work, the agents, the cover ups, the hiding, the constant fear in the pit of your stomach when reading this book. Tracy wrote a very fast paced novel and kept it on a thriller level. You were definitely thrown in suspense as certain unexpected scenes would pop up. She kept the book very clean, considering that Brigitte and her companions were prostitutes. No unnecessary details about Brigittes' work was given, much to my relief.
However, the book included too many characters with complex names on their own, then some even had code names. This factor added for some definite confusion on my part. I also did not like that all Tom preached to Brigitte was that God accepts all types of sinners. Seeing what a broken women she was the author definitely could have added a bit more God can redeem you, you are precious in His sight type of preaching. Tom was portrayed as a very shallow "Christian" he rarely mentions God and worst of all he was planning a revenge murder. I would have loved if the author concentrated on giving the main characters depth, than adding all the other secondary characters.
All in all, this was a very up the wall book filled with non stop action, sweet romance, suspense, and that WW|| nazi thrill sensation. With all that said, I give Flame of Resistance a 4 out of 5.
I received this book for free, from Tyndale, in exchange for my honest review.

Count Your Blessings
Peace be with you, yet another week has come and gone. Time is flying away from us!
Monday was spent finishing my high school portfolio. Afterwards we went to pray at my grandma's house. She had chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream for us after. I got Blue Skies Tomorrow by Sarah Sundin from the library.
Tuesday my mom was doing the finishing touches to our homeschool planner. She printed everything and just has to get it bound in Staples.
Early wednesday morning my mother got our homeschool planners bound. Since my dad took off, we went to the zoo. It was a really nice time. I did not take many pictures, I wanted to focus on looking at everything.
Look at those fabulously looking birds
This nest was directly on top of us
Messy hair and...
Penguins!
We had dinner over at my grandmas house. She cooked her Ecuadorian specialty. I'm not even going to type the name because spell check will be so confused:)
I had a great week, thanks be to the Lord! How was your week?

Recap of the Unplugging Challenge
So last month a did a post that talked about an Unplugging Challenge. I decided I was going to give some things I enjoyed doing for one entire week at a time. The first week was Instagram, the following was blogging, reading, and ultimately all I- pod touch use.
Ohh what fun this month has been! I have really enjoyed this challenge. It wasn't easy, but it most certainly hurt the flesh. I had time for other things, than just reading, and blogging. Though if I was off on reading than you'd catch me on instagram, and vice versa. Even though I substituted my time with what I was allowed to do, it felt good to refrain from doing what I couldn't do. The self control that I had to exhibit was enormous, but ultimately satisfying.
Now, I do not think I will do this every month, but I have been considering doing at least one, once a month.
I would really encourage you readers to give up some things that occupy your time, it may seem hard, but the spiritual reward is greater.
Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For everything in the world—the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does—comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever. 1 John 2:15-17

Pinteresting Recipe- 2
Pinerest is the spot to find yummy and easy recipes! Here's another quick recipe and one that may become a family favorite.
Creamy Pasta Roll-ups
Ingredients:
- Lasagna noodles
- Shredded Cheese
- Homemade or bought alfredo sauce
- Pre- cooked and seasoned Chicken
- Sour cream
Prep:
Using your pre- cooked and seasoned chicken, mix it with sour cream, like in this post.
After you cook your lasagna noodles, grab your chicken mixture and put it onto the tip of the noodle.
Then roll it up
Continue the previous step until you finished your pasta and chicken mixture.
Once all rolls are placed in the pan, pour your alfredo sauce over them. (we make are own, but you can buy yours)
Next, drizzle your rolls with lots of shredded cheese, as you can tell our family likes cheese!
Finally pop in the oven to melt the cheeses and cook the food a bit more.
If you'd like you can have a salad or italian bread for a side.
I hope you enjoy!
It was so good I did not even get a picture of it on the plate!

Count Your Blessings
How do you like the "CYB" design I made? It so fun having a kit that has a lot of elements, you have a lot to play with.
Monday my dad stayed home from work because our car needed to get fixed. I also got my new I touch case! It's big, but it will keep it nice and protected.
It feels so good to be blogging again.
Wednesday was super HOT. Visited my grandma. Afterwards we went to church to practice for a children's service. I entered a photo editing challenge.
Thursday another HOT day. Glad for the big A.C. in church. It was so hot that after church I grabbed all my hair and made a bun on top of my head. You may think I'm weird, but when you have as much hair as I do, you'd do the same.
Today another HOT day. Summer came with a vengeance this year. Cleaned my desk and put all my 10th grade books in. I went to "market" to buy some fresh produce (all by myself), when it started pouring.
Linking up to Rachel's Building photography challenge. Here is my entry.

-Package of Pillsbury Diner or crescent Rolls
-Chicken, enough for your family
-Shredded Cheese
-Sour Cream
- Salad (optional)
Prep:
Using your pre cooked and seasoned chicken, shred your chicken.
Grabbing a bowl, put 1 cup of sour cream, and mix it with your shredded chicken.
Next add 2 cups of shredded cheese to your mixture.

Then add your chicken mixture inside one strip and just close it over.
After you've made enough for your family pop them into the oven, and bake until golden.
Optional buy a pre made salad and use it as a side dish.

Ireland over at A Pearl of Great Price awarded me the Kreativ Blog award!
Rules: Answer ten random questions about yourself, tell ten random things about myself, and award seven bloggers. Here goes:
Q&A:
What is Your Favorite Song: This is a hard one. I tend to change this one frequently. The only one that is coming to me right now is Yo Quiero Enamorarme Mas De Ti
What is Your Favorite Dessert: Why are these questions so hard? Umm... cookies and cream ice cream.
What Makes You Mad: When I am trying to say something, and I'm constantly interrupted.
When You Are Upset What Do You Do: I, which is not good, usually give people the silent treatment.
What Is Your Favorite Pet: If I had a pet, I would want a cute little Beagle.
What Do You Prefer; Black Or White to wear? I like to wear black, black is so classy, but then again white gives a fresh and clean appearance, but I will stick to black.
