Canon or Nikon

Coke or Pepsi? Canon or Nikon?

We all have our own opinions. I personally have a Pepsi and Canon preference. Why? Well because my mom does and Canon rings professional, as Nikon doesn't to me. Most of our choices believe it or not, are based by someone who influences us, our role model. Whether it be our parents, pastor, friend or aunt, whoever that person is, motivates you to think and act like them. As the older one gets, we may become someones role model even if we do not know it. Our actions may influence someones life tremendously.

Wow! My Canon and Nikon interview turned into a Bible study. I have asked a couple of my favorite photographers a few questions, and since I am a Canon girl, I'll start you off with a Nikon user, so as not to appear partial.

What do you use? I use the Nikon 3100.

What/Who influenced your decision? My influence to go with Nikon, was my aunt, who had a Nikon SLR at the time.

Canon or Nikon? Why? I have Nikon now because I like the format better, and I just prefer Nikon over Canon, I can't exactly get my finger on what made me switch but I'm happy with what I use now.

Have you shot with the other brand? When I first entered the world of SLR's, I had Canon. Something about it just didn't seem right to me, even though I loved having a new "big" camera. I switched to Nikon after selling my brand new Canon, and here I am today.

What advice would you give for beginners? As for beginner advice? I'd say never give up. I know it sounds cliche, but really.

  2. I agree with Kiley. The button settings on a Nikon are so much more easier to maneuver! I also like the build and body of a Nikon.

But like you said, it's all a matter of preference and personal opinion :)
