Love Is...

Love is not a feeling or emotion. Love is much more real than that butterfly feeling in your stomach when you see someone. Love is:

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.  Love never fails."
1 Corinthians 13:4-8

Wow! Thats one big definition of love. I can say with all certainty that I do not resemble that. Well, don't feel bad no one can love that way, but we should strive to. Only one person can, and that's Jesus.  Jesus is love. He is the only one who can be patient with us during our gimme sessions of "prayer." Jesus is always kind, he is always a gentlemen. Jesus' very nature is described by what the above definition of love states. Jesus can show us this perfect love because He IS love.

Nothing can and should take the place that Jesus should have in your heart. No one, not boys, relationships, or friends can ever fulfill the love that we as humans need.

I encourage you to give Jesus your heart today, allow him to take full control over your whole being.

For those who have Jesus in their hearts, grow more in love with Jesus.

  1. This is a really good post Ali. I had to memorize that verse for school when I was younger. Your right, love is more than the feeling you feel when you see the guy that you've had a crush on since 2nd grade. Love is being patient with your baby brother and kind to your siblings.

  2. Great post and great beginning to the Love Is challenge!

I was edified in reading this:)

"May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
be pleasing in your sight,
O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer."
(Psalm 19:14)
