Teen Book Review: Anomaly

Dystopian young adult novels are an upcoming new trend. I have read several and have enjoyed each one for their individual uniqueness. Though different they share many common factors such as controlling government, crazy scientists, low morals, and technological advance. Anomaly did include such factors, but went further and dealt with topics of deep spirituality and physiological affects paired with technological advances.
I enjoyed the slow but not boring pace of the book. I was able to deeply intertwine my feelings in the characters lives. I thoroughly enjoyed the musical references. Through music we see how it brings out emotions in Thalli that are not supposed to exist. Music further helps her to recognize her creator and speak to him.
The book was not an edge of your seat action packed book, but was definitely not a dull one either. I enjoyed the journey many of the characters experienced in their quest to find God.
Loved the ending. Just when you think you know the ending- BAM! Look forward to reading the next book in the series.
I received a complimentary copy from BookSneeze in exchange for this independent and unbiased review.

Braces, Besties, and BBQ's

For some time Kianna and I knew that we were going to a BBQ on the 27th, so we decided to have a mini photo shoot, with the 'real', cameras that Saturday. It is a lot harder than it looks to position people and to pose them the way you see on Pinterest:) Nonetheless I had a fun time doing it and hope the next time I take someone's photos I am more at ease. The majority of the pictures I took were in manual mode which was another plus.

As you know Kianna has been my best friend since I was basically born. She's like the only one I could take photos of and admit I do not know what I am doing. She recently got braces and I was able to capture some shots of her beautiful new look. Her braces even matched her outfit!

Here are a few of my favorites...

Authentic You

For awhile now I have felt the need to share this. Not because I think you need to change but to voice the inner struggles I have faced. If what I am about to share defines you or your situation than this is for you.

We live in a modern age. Whether you Blog, Instagram, Pinterest, or Youtube we get influenced. Don't lie and say that you don't. How many times have you done something just because its a growing trend or one of your favorite 'Bloggers' have done it. Flower headbands are in, got them. Paper straws it is! Mason jars sure why not. Top knots Ok.

Have you ever wondered what makes so and so, so popular. What does she do, what does she have that makes everybody like her?

Do you ever wonder what are your special talents? Do you really like photography or do you just do it because everybody else does? Are vintage knick-knacks really your style? Do you even have something that your good at? It seems that everyone is good at something, crocheting, sewing, crafting, writing, photography. They all have a specific style braces, glasses, bangs, ombre hair, what's yours? Are there any talents left for you? Who are you... the true you?

This blog post may have presented more questions than answers, but thats ok for know.

I've learned that some things are just not me, no matter how IN they are. I've learned its okay to like something that everybody else does because YOU like it. Instead of wanting to be like that popular girl on social media I can lover her and learn from her. I've learned that sometimes you just don't have a THING.

You are you, just authentically true.

Changes: Vlogs

One of the reasons I have not been blogging has been that I have become quite uninspired, but the most reason is because I have been going through changes.

When I started this blog almost 2 years ago, I was sooo into books. I would literally read an entire book in a few days time. It was something that was enjoyable to me back then, but not so much now. I have come to realize that, yes I still love to read, but I am no longer letting it be my "life'. Books were becoming too of a huge thing, maybe even an unhealthy one. I am going to cut back on my reading and not get so many of those free books.

One of the reasons I started this blog was to encourage other teens, wether through a helpful tip, an encouraging Bible scripture, or a simple recipe. I wanted to make this an encouraging corner, and I recognize that I have failed in this aspect. Books literally took over my blog and I want to remidy that! From now own I am going to be an encouragement to you. I want to write more Bible posts, more fashion posts, and just girly things:)

While I am closing a chapter in my book-no pun intended:), I am also opening another. This new chapter had materialized in imovie. I've recently started messing with and I am enjoying making home videos and editing them. While I am learning I will be sharing videos with you girls too! Though I have not come up with a schedule, I have some pretty fun ideas for this new progect. So be merciful with me as I learn and grown in this journey.

Here is my first video! Before you watch keep this in mind 1. This is my first video:) 2. I kept looking at the viewfinder so sorry if that annoys you. 3. I had previously ate a jolly rancher, hence the red tongue. 5. I choose a very windy day to film 6. The last portion is blurry:(

Fashion Post: eShakti Review

Awhile back I promised to give my review for my eShakti dress. I have worn it only twice but both times I have loved the feel of the dress and they way it looked. The dress I chose was a three in one piece.

The soft cotton, adorable shape, and vintage-y pattern are just a few of my favorites concerning the top portion to the dress.

Smack in the middle is this bright mustard belt. My only 'issue' with the dress is the belt, I constantly have to cinch it. I think the belts design is more for show than actually holding anything. If I would have gotten a size smaller, the belt would work perfectly (my mistake). Loved the pop of color!

The last portion is this beautiful full skirt. Loved the thick fabric used in the making and not to mention the cool pattern.
The entire dress!

The company did a great job in the making, designing, and customizing it the way I wanted. Fast shipping is another bonus even though it comes all the way from India!
