Love Is...

Credit:
Love is not a feeling or emotion. Love is much more real than that butterfly feeling in your stomach when you see someone. Love is:

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.  Love never fails."
1 Corinthians 13:4-8

Wow! Thats one big definition of love. I can say with all certainty that I do not resemble that. Well, don't feel bad no one can love that way, but we should strive to. Only one person can, and that's Jesus.  Jesus is love. He is the only one who can be patient with us during our gimme sessions of "prayer." Jesus is always kind, he is always a gentlemen. Jesus' very nature is described by what the above definition of love states. Jesus can show us this perfect love because He IS love.

Nothing can and should take the place that Jesus should have in your heart. No one, not boys, relationships, or friends can ever fulfill the love that we as humans need.

I encourage you to give Jesus your heart today, allow him to take full control over your whole being.

For those who have Jesus in their hearts, grow more in love with Jesus.

Love Is... Challenge

We all know that February is the month where the world celebrates Valentines Day and love. I decided to focus on the true meaning of love not just the flowers and chocolate love that lasts only a day.

For the whole month of February we will be celebrating the true meaning of love. This is not like most challenges, this is more like a commitment to love others like Christ. Are you ready to travel this journey with me? For all those who will persevere, you will learn many unpleasant things about yourself. However, my desire is that at the end,  you would laugh, grow, and love like Jesus.

For all of you who are determined to start this love journey (many thanks to Trinka who did a fabulous job designing my button) you may grab my the Love is...Challenge button. So ladies spread the love and let's begin. (My Button may not be accessible right now but by tomorrow it will definitely be working).

A Baby Shower

These were some of the decorations at the Baby Shower. My aunt made these flower pom poms.

This was the main decoration table. I love the colors that we chose for the decorations.

Yellow cupcakes to match the theme. Kianna and I made them all, lots of hard work.

Pink cupcakes. I think the strawberry ones were a favorite.

The cupcakes were put on a cute cake stand. The rest were put around the cake stand.

While we were making the cupcakes, Kianna and I made some cake pops. Later my aunt covered them in matching yellow and pink chocolate. These were a special treat just for the Expectant mom.

This was another side of the table. Look at the cute diaper cake, you see the little diaper baby.

Count Your Blessings

This is a little review of my Saturday. We went to Home Depot for a Daddy and daughter time. That sounds fun right, picking out nails and paint colors...not. We did not do that. Home Depot actually had a free workshop, we made house banks.

Me building my house. I got a little irritated with the lady because she made mine all wrong.

After we finished building the houses we got to paint them. All the other kids painted theirs funky, but I painted mine white and blue.
Is it perfect? Sometimes I can be such a perfectionist.

My finished product. My little sister painted a different color for each wall:)

After that we went to Costco, we had some good samples.

It was such a nice warm day, that we went to the park. My dad is trying to teach Sara how to ride her bike.

Sorry for the blurry pic. I ride with style. I do not see the point of wearing my helmet when I can't even click it shut.

I had a wonderful week. I do not have any other pictures of my week, but I think this saturday covers for it.

Toasted Cheese

Today, inspired by my mother I decided to make a toasted cheese. What is a toasted cheese? I am pretty sure that you know what a grilled cheese sandwich looks like. So a toasted cheese is like a grilled cheese sandwich, just not grilled. Here is what you need.

Turkey, Cheese, Mayonnaise, Toaster and Bread.

To make a toasted cheese you need to turn your toaster side ways.

Make sure you put the cheese slices on the same side so when you close the sandwich you have cheese on both sides.

Slide your breads inside. Make sure to use a knife to slide them in farther. The cheese will begin to bubble and steam will float out.

Make sure to put your level on low, you do not want your bread to burn.

Now doesn't that look like a genuine grilled cheese.

I put a piece of turkey to add flavor.

I used a butterfly cutout to make it look cute.
Inside Joke: I didn't think they were Butterflies:)

I made these sandwiches for my mom and little sister, they thought it was good. For lunch, I decided to make a toasted sandwich (since I am not a grilled cheese fan). I think I should have just eaten the toasted cheese. I first, burned my bread then, while trying to scrape the burnt off dropped the bread in the sink (It did not get wet!) I finally ended up dropping a piece of bread on the floor. Overall it was a great sandwich! I hope you try my faster and quicker grilled cheese. Tell me how yours came out. What are your cooking disaster stories?

Count Your Blessings

I never shared about my Christmas week so I figured I would do a New Year collaboration. For Christmas Eve we went to my Grandmas house to celebrate my two cousins birthdays. Neither of their birthdays is on the 24 but since they are only a couple of days apart they just decided it that way. Jaslianny turned 2 and the other baby Jeannaly was just born.

This was my first time carrying her. She was such a cutie in her little outfit.

This was a nice photo my mother took of the girls matching outfits.

On the 25 we went to church. The little children and middle received gifts. I am too big to receive one of these, but my Sunday school teacher got us a very nice gift.

Happy New Year!

We had the Lord's Supper. It is such a beautiful act of remembrance of all Jesus sacrificed for us.
Happy New Year! Our church celebrates loudly with noise makers, tambourines and shouts. This is Kianna and Me after our first 2012 picture. Now don't we look fabulous :)

This is my little cousin showing off her Let's Party tambourine. I pray you all have a blessed 2012.

Memory Verse #1

"Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for the edification according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear. "
